Project Description

We love our little ice rink at Baker Creek! Sitting around the fire with some hot chocolate, the family and friends after a long day adventuring. There’s no better winter unwind! But for some grander vistas and a place to practice your spins and spirals, Lake Louise is a short 15 minute drive away!  Usually be early December, the ice is thick enough to strap on a pair of skate, grab the hockey sticks or simple go wonder at the crowds flying around the ice!

For some less frequented options, you can usually find a patch or two on Vermillion Lakes that has been cleared by the locals. Two Jack Lake, Minnewanka, Spray, & Bow Lake also make for some of the largest ice rinks in the world! Parks doesn’t monitor ice depth so be sure you know how and where to check and play safe!
